We had a great time in Payson watching the Blue Ridge girls. It was fun to have Mom and Dad come and watch, too. A first time in the last two years of track...which also made it more stressful for Cortlee who ended up with the flu the weekend before and was still feeling awful. She asked me to call them the morning of the meet and tell them not to come because she wouldn't be able to do well, feeling so sick still. But they said for her to do her best and that would be good enough for them.
She had decided she was going to ask coach to drop one of her sprints, but later found out that she was the only Blue Ridge girl to qualify. She sucked it up, as best she could, and did a great job, as usual. We have joked that if she can do this well being so sick, what would she have done feeling 100%...??!?!?!!!
The following is a letter sent from her coach to her teacher, who sent it on to us. Love those stats! She broke two records!

Teachers and Staff,
Please congratulate the all girls on the track team for an outstanding season. The girls placed first in the championships for the 7th strait year ( Their 8th undefeated regular season) with the largest margin of victory ever! Third place Payson had 119 points, Snowflake had 137 points and Blue Ridge won with a phenomenal score of 314 points.
Outstanding individual mid school contributors were Cortlee Crockett, Abby Hathcock, Mikayla Schimmel, Mia Kerr, Cammie Edgington, Meagan Moore, Sydney Crain, and Breanna Mettie.
Cortlee Crockett placed 1st in the "B" 4x100 relay, 2nd in the "B" 100 meter, 2nd in the "B" 200 meter, and 4th in the long jump (see the attached photo). She also set new school records in the "B" 200m with a time of 28.29 seconds and help set the "B" 4x100 record with a time of 54.54 seconds.
Grasshoppers Abby Hathcock and Mia Kerr took 1st and 3rd respectively in the "C" high jump.
The gazelle like speedster Mikayla Schimmel placed 1st in the "C" 4x100 relay, 3rd in the "C" 200m, 4th in the "C" 100m.
The cannon arms of Cammie Edgington and Breanna Mettie were good of 4th and 8th place in the "C" shot put.
Finally, iron women Meagan Moore and Sydney Crain put in solid efforts in the 1600 meter placing 6th and 7th. Meagan also place 8th in the 800 meters.
Please let all of the girls who participated in track this year know that their efforts helped make this victory possible. Even the girls who may have not seen much action this year helped to push others to new heights through their hard work and enthusiasm. Great job Ladies!!

She had a hard time getting her steps and ended up running a lot. So then when they got started she was feeling pretty lousy. Her first two jumps she scratched. Then her third jump placed her in 4th. Coach said if her second jump would of counted she could have taken first.
Would-a, could-a, should-a...Oh well!
100m
3rd leg in Relay. I think this is the best race Cortlee ever had in the relay. Watching from the stands it looked like everyone was in sync running together and Cortlee was at her own pace
[which was faster, may I add ;) ]
I laughed at Papa after the relay he said, "That's a record breaker right there!" I thought, oh, proud Papa. Then Cortlee came up and said that they had just broke the record that was set/broke last year (by her team)!
R&R in the stands before the 200m
200m...fighting for a first, claiming a second...
But setting a new school record!
I am sad it's over. It's been so much fun to watch her.
